Update: All Toronto outreach operations have been paused with the latest statement from Toronto Public Health. Calgary outreach has also been cancelled for the time being. We’ll continue to monitor the situation to determine when it is safe to resume outreach.
The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform is following all recommendations put forward by public health authorities and closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds. Toronto Public Health says that the virus is not currently circulating locally in Toronto, but is recommending a variety of changes in behaviour to slow the spread of the virus. Thus, we have paused our “Choice” Chain project for the time being to follow social distancing recommendations, and are taking necessary precautions in regard to projects such as postcard delivery that do not include interactions with people with hand sanitation and hygiene practices, and will be following the lead of Canada Post in regard to suspending deliveries.
