Oriyana first encountered abortion victim photography when she was 14, at which point she came to realize the human rights violation taking place in Canada and the violence abortion inflicts on pre-born children every day.
In 2015 she participated in CCBR’s Abortion Awareness Project in Florida and was amazed at the effectiveness of CCBR’s strategy and the sheer number of people who changed their minds on abortion after seeing images of abortion victims. This experience motivated her to join CCBR as a summer intern in 2015.
Since then, Oriyana has volunteered with the 2016 Florida Abortion Awareness Project, completed a second internship in the summer of 2016, and returned in 2017 as an activism team leader for the summer internship program.
Oriyana graduated from Western University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Medical Science. During her time at Western University, Oriyana co-founded London Against Abortion (LAA) to facilitate regular activism like “Choice” Chain at UWO. She was also the president of Western’s pro-life club, Western Lifeline.
Oriyana currently works as CCBR’s Eastern Community Outreach Coordinator, while completing her studies to become a paramedic.
